Start at the Storey Arms carpark, go to the phone box and look up, that is where you are going, take a bearing and start climbing. It rises quickly and then drops back down into a stream running across your path, start climbing again towards Corn Du. If the weather is good the views are spectacular off to your left, don't get to close to the edge on a windy day, when you can, look back towards the Obelisk and Llyn Cwm Llwch, what a view.
Most of the path has been replaced because of erosion so the new path is easy to follow, but always take a bearing in case the weather closes in.
Continue upto Corn Du, scambling up the last 50 feet, once on top another bearing to Pen-Y-Fan, amazing views either side as you walk along the saddle.
Unfortunaly the trig point on Pen-Y-Fan was removed several years ago so no photo oppourtunity, but worth the effort in getting there.
Drop down the back of the Fan towards the Roman road turn right and keep on walking, Neuadd Reservoir is to your right, carry on untill you reach the tree line before dropping down to the crossing point that takes you over start of the reservoir.
Ahead of you is a short sharp climb upto the ridgeline, keep putting one foot in front of the other and you will get to the top. Take a breather you have earned it after that climb.
Turn right and walk along the ridge and enjoy the views.
You will see Corn-Du and Pen-Y-Fan off to your right, as you get closer you can decide to either head down the easy route back to the Storey Arms, taking you to the left of the forest crossing the stream at the bottom by the bridge or follow the route back down from Corn Du.
I have walked this route on many occasions in all weather, please do not be decieved by it simplicity the weather can change very quickly, always walk on a bearing and carry the right equipment. If the weather is kind the views are as good as you will find anywhere, if the weather turns then don't hang around get back to the car and find a nice pub.
