  Posted by MikeK

Length of route:
12 km (7 mi)
Suitable for:
Walking
And:
Bird watchers
Details:

A circular route of Newton Stewart's Hill. The route is following the path to the summit along to the Knee and return via the Graddoch burn. With the right conditions the views from the top are arguably the best in Galloway.

Start and finish is the new car park at Cairnsmore Estate NX462632

There is a well defined path going north easterly to the summit firstly on the estate road, through forest and open hillside. The route goes southerly to the cairn 656m along the plateau then a short retracing of steps before heading south westerly alongside the Graddoch Burn before picking up a track that leads back to the estate road and the car park.
