Flattish circuit which starts out on the Manchester orbital cycleway and then comes back, via Stockport, following the trans Pennine trail along the banks of the river Mersey. Though not the most breathtaking countryside it's surprising just how wild, green and pleasant things get in what, for road users, seems like a city of non-stop tarmac and concrete.
It's pretty flat though out other than a the ascent to the viaduct in Reddish Country Park and the subsequent decent. Mostly off road but the terrain isn't too challenging other than the ascent to the viaduct, which has a few steps in has to be walked in part (these would make viable small jumps if the route was done in reverse).
Meh there was a small path up the side of the main bit so more skilled riders than I could possibly get up on this. ;-)
For those that require pub nourishment at the end of their journey, there's Jackson's boat, Chorlton Green and numerous other eateries/hostelries in Chorlton.
Just over 20miles according to my cycling computer.
