Lulworth Cove to Durdle Door paddle

Claire   Posted by Claire

Length of route:
4 km (3 mi) one way, 9 km (6 mi) return
Suitable for:
Canoeing
Details:

Park in the Lulworth Cove car park. It's a bit of a walk from the car park to the water with your canoe/kayak, but worth it! Check the weather, wind and tides before you plan your trip. I would only do it on a sunny, calm day so you can go in close to the rocks and caves. You can paddle through Stair Hole, under Durdle Door's arch, and through a hole in the cliff at Bat's Head....but watch out for rocks underneath as you come out. Go as far as you feel comfortable, park up on the beach and enjoy the lovely Dorset coast.
