Its original name is "Bod an Deamhain" which in English means "The Devils Penis". The Queen Victoria used to ride through the Lairig Ghru pass in her carriage and one day asked the man who drove the carriage what the mountain was called and he translated its gaelic name in to English and to save the embarresment of telling the Queen Victoria that "Bod an Deamhain" meant the devils penis he changed the translation to "The Devils Point" and so the name stuck ever since.
