Accessibility

Ordnance Survey is committed to ensuring that this site is accessible to all, regardless of platform or browser being used. However, should you experience difficulty in accessing any of the information on this site then please do not hesitate to contact us.

Browser Support

This site has been designed and constructed to display correctly in Internet Explorer and Firefox. Designed and constructed using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) for visual layout, this ensures that the contents of each page can still be accessed, even if a user's browser does not support CSS.

Screen Resolution

This site has been designed to make maximum use of screen resolutions measuring 1024 pixels by 768 pixels (1024 x 768) or greater. Resolutions below this, while remaining functional, may not display as expected.

Documents

As much information as possible is supplied within the web page itself.

Where this is not possible, the information is presented in a number of file formats including; Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF), Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Rich Text Format (RTF) and plain text.

PDF

Adobe® Acrobat® Reader is free software that lets you view and print PDF files. You can download Acrobat Reader from Adobe's website.

Access keys

Access keys are single character keyboard shortcuts that provide an alternative method of navigating to important or frequently accessed pages and features.

Text sizing

This site is constructed using relative font sizes, which means that text can be scaled within the browser. Please refer to your browser's help page for information on how to achieve this.

Images

All images used in this site include descriptive "alt" attributes. Where images are used for layout purposes, an empty "alt" attribute is used.

Forms

All forms and their fields are labelled and arranged into logical groups where possible.

Frames

Where the use of inline frames (Iframes) is employed, due to technical requirements, these are clearly labelled in order to make access to them as easy as possible.

Scripting

This site uses scripting (JavaScript). However, all content remains fully accessible should your browser not support scripting or it is disabled.

Links

Unless notified, all links open within the same browser window. Should you wish to open a link in a new browser window then hold down the "SHIFT" key while activating the link required. When linking to an external site Ordnance Survey cannot be held accountable for the content of that site.
