  4. Guildford-Brighton: cycling via the Downs Link (route)
This route is mainly off road on easy tracks. It uses the Downs Link, a path following the disused railway track from Guildford to Christ's Hospital, then a cross country route to the sea at Shoreham, finally following cycle routes into Brighton. You can return to Guildford on the train via Gatwick Airport (check bike restrictions). Best suited to off road bikes, though any bike should be OK in dry weather so long as you don't mind the bumps.
  5. Brighton, Preston Park (route)
Preston Park is situated in Brighton on the London Road and one of the best known landmarks for visitors travelling into the town. The beautiful gardens that can be seen from the road, are set in 63 acres of parkland. The park contains tennis courts, bowling greens, a children’s playground, a croquet lawn, a garden for the blind and a pond full of wild life and stepping stones. The Rotunda Café is situated in the grounds of the park and is open from Easter to the end of October, 10am-6pm. Near the park on the other side of London Road, is a place called The Rockery. It’s the largest municipal rock garden in Britain. It was made with 1,350 tonnes of Cheddar stone and has lots of plants complementing the design.
