  1. Skiddaw round walk (route)
To Skiddaw House, summit of Skiddaw and back to car
  2. A fast Skiddaw north face, up Randel Crag and down Broad End (route)
This circular route really begins at the ford of Barkbethdale north of Hole House (NY242314), 750m below and 3km away from the summit of Skiddaw and an easy walk from the car park near Peter House Farm (NY249323). Head for Ullock Pike, crossing over Barkbeth Hill (257m) to cut the corner, then drop into Southerndale below the Watches and cross over to Buzzard Knott between Southerndale and Barkbethdale. Take and ascend the ridge up to Randel Crag. Walk to the south-eastern tip of the "unknown shoulder" of Skiddaw before turning due east and ascending steeply to the true summit (931m). Now beat the tourists by trusting your compass and walking due north to Cockup (505m), then turning left and descending through a gate at the top of the public bridleway leading to the start. The more romantically inclined should just charge down Broad End; it's great fun and there are many ways to cross Cockup Gill even if you veer west as far as Brown Knott (NY252308). Enjoy!
  3. Skiddaw Loop (route)
start anywhere in keswick, head over a66 (watch out, its lethal on there). Road section, signposted basthenwaite village A591. good 3-5miles along here, you can deviate into bits of singletrack in the edge of the woods, although of dubious legality. Just beyond end of woodland, turn fork right up steep hill past row of houses, climb for 1mile. arrive whitewater dash carpark area, and head thru gate up track to whitewater dash, a very long slog with detoriating track conditions, often damp, but great views! Head thru gate to a switchback climb, and head toward skiddaw house (a YHA a few fast descents over drains and stream crossing (cold). Good views at skiddaw house, and temptation of singletack descent to mosedale common (a good detour if you want it). head south toward blencathera, follow track downhill, getting progressvily rougher + wetter. Stay high on right hand shoulder following trail slightly upward. Techy bits (esp in wet) over rocky sections, with LARGE drop to left. Then good view, followed by full out down to lattrigg, then up slightly to carpark. Head right into carpark, then left thru gate down bridleway down latrigg tourist route, lots of drain humps, slalom bits, and a duel corner! Turn right onto road down to main road, turn right to return to original starting roundabout, or turn left into town centre
  4. Skiddaw the hard way from Keswick (route)
A challenging walk, ascending Skiddaw via a quieter and more challenging route, then returning via the 'tourist path'.
  5. Richard's Skiddaw Circuit (route)
Around the back of Skiddaw, then over the top, and a run down soft springy scree, and a gentle stroll back through Applethwaite
  6. Skiddaw circuit (route)
Blencathra carpark, up the valley to the back end of Skiddaw, over the top, and back via scramble up and down to the carpark.
  7. the Skiddaw Group (route)
Very, very adaptable, almost any of the fells can be skipped if the tiredness kicks in, definitely manageable though, even if there are sore feet at the end. Good views from Skiddaw too
