Stepping Out 1- Cannock Chase
(route)
Starting at Seven Springs car park. Steady walk along Abraham's Valley, skirting Strawberry Hill before turning left up towards the gravel pits. Walk right mainly on the level for about half a mile before dropping steadily into the Sherbrook Valley. In the valley bottom follow the valley bottom south before turning right at the end of the small pools up to the Katyn Memorial and then on to the road. Here there is a top notch cafe on the opposite side of the road where you can buy an excellent hot chocolate for £1. After your break cross back over the road and join the path nothward through a picturesque coppice. As the coppice opens out there is a large area suitable for picnics. Continue north to Coppice Hill before decending gradually, skirting Brocton Coppice. At the bottom with the small pool on your left turn right towards the stepping stones (level walk) . At the stones cross and then follow straight on all the way back to the starting point.
