Shipley / Dial Post Circular(route)
Starting from the distinctive landmark of King’s Mill at Shipley, out towards Coolham WWII airfield. Down towards Dial Post, and back up via Knepp Castle
so you think cheshire is flat!(route)
this is the route that i used to do on my hybrid not tackled it on my mountain bike yet
its hills hills hills frodsham hill helsby hill primrose hill kelsall hill beaston castle and hill and its as bad in reverse enjoy!
first frodsham and thats down
then helsby hill and thats up up up up and a good view
then along the top of the hill toward delemere forest
into the forest and around the track
out of the track and past the visitors centre heading for kelsall
kelsall is down hill then up then to primrose hill and woods
down the hill into the woods slam on u brakes as late as u dare as its a hairpin at the bottom and very muddy dont get to lost but if u follow the correct path u end up back on the right roads
avoiding the A49 u head for beeston castle also up hill onto the A49 toward tarpley then back roads to eaton village then little budworth past oulton park
now head toward the whitegate way
up past the kennels on kennel lane and woods and back to the start oh ye thats up hill as well
Raw Head to Bickerton Hill Circular Walk(route)
A circular walk starting at The Sandstone Pub (previously the Coppermine Pub). Fantastic views and an Iron Age Fort called Maiden Castle on Bickerton Hill.
Warm Up Walk(route)
From Shide to Mount Joy, to the Castle, through the shrubbery, around the Castle, up to the Priory, along Nunnery Lane,into Marvel Lane, through Marvel Copse, down Sandy Lane to Blackwater, back to Shide along the Cyclepath.
Hawarden Castle(route)
A circular route around Hawarden Castle and the Sir William Gladstone estate. The Spinning Wheel pub offers a nice break for refreshments. A World War II air-raid shelter is discovered on the return leg. As the route back through the estate is Private you will have to return along the B5125 tarmac footpath.
Llangollen History Trail(route)
A circular walk taking in the Llangollen canal, Horshoe Falls, a disused Abbey and an ancient Welsh Castle with spectacular views of the Dee Valley and Welsh Hills. Some steep hills - allow 6 hours to complete the route.
Stonroway wander(route)
A pleasant stroll around the castle grounds for when you have an hour or two to spare having just arrived or waiting to leave the Outer Hebrides. For a part of the country that is windswept and virtually treeless, this route is surprisingly wooded. This route is best in May when the Rhododendrums bloom. Beware of midges if tackling this in the Summer.
Conwy - Tal y Fan - Llangelynnin - Henryd - Conwy(route)
This walk goes up to the rugged top of Tal y Fan and returns via the ancient Llangelynnin Church in an area of many standing stones and burial chambers. The return to Conwy could be of interest as an alternative approach to the castle for Cambrian Way walkers. Check a 1:25000 map for a clearer view of the footpath sections.
