  1. Langsett edge (route)
    From the car park head down to the footpath. Follow the path around the edge of the reservoir until you reach the bridge. There is a steep climb down to the bridge and back up again, so you may need to carry younger childrfen if they are tired by this point. The bridge gives a nice view across the water and there are usually ducks to watch.
  2. Nent Valley Family Ramble (route)
    This is the ideal route for a gentle country ramble, whilst avoiding difficult terrain it takes in beautifal, contrasting landscapes. Park by the second River Nent crossing east of Alston. Follow the footpath on your left and follow the meandaring yet occansionly ferocious River Nent until you reach a bridge on your right. Cross the bridge and continue past Corby Gates Farm (beware of the cows in the preceeding field) until reaching the picturesque country village of Blagill. Turn right and continue along the road leading south out of Blagill until you reach the crossing by which you parked. Alternativeley continue to the market town of Alston and return as shown.
  3. A Nice Walk (route)
    Takes you across the Roaches past the five clouds and along to gradbach and then through lugs church back up the hill towards the five clouds againa and then back up over hen cloud and down the other side and down to the car park and then to the pub!
  4. Willsbridge Mill (route)
    A quick trot around a local nature reserve. The river is fast flowing but safe and the reserve is teeming with birds and has easy to walk paths so everyone can join in.
  5. Cambubarron Woodland Walk (route)
    An ideal family stroll through some beautiful mixed woods. Wildlife is abundent and the terrain is safe to play lots of hide and seek!! It'll take around an hour or so.
  6. Dee Cycleways (route)
    Start at Shotton or Chester, cycle on either the NCN 5 Dee Marsh or the NCN 89 to Chester, then cycle back on the other path. Shotton and Chester railway stations are linked if you feel only up to half the route. Off-road almost 100% of the time, but the paths are paved. Good for families and leisure cyclists.
  7. Cambusbarron Woodland Walk (route)
    A fantastic family walk, full of adventure amongst some beautiful mixed woodland.
