Nent Valley Family Ramble
(route)
This is the ideal route for a gentle country ramble, whilst avoiding difficult terrain it takes in beautifal, contrasting landscapes.
Park by the second River Nent crossing east of Alston.
Follow the footpath on your left and follow the meandaring yet occansionly ferocious River Nent until you reach a bridge on your right.
Cross the bridge and continue past Corby Gates Farm (beware of the cows in the preceeding field) until reaching the picturesque country village of Blagill.
Turn right and continue along the road leading south out of Blagill until you reach the crossing by which you parked.
Alternativeley continue to the market town of Alston and return as shown.
