  1. Heart of South Harris peaks (route)
There are a couple of lowish peaks at the heart of South Harris that look unimpressive on the map, yet offer an entertaining day out and some great views. Don't try this when the cloud is down.
  2. Greabhal from the bunkhouse at Leverburgh (route)
A half day walk from the bunkhouse at Leverburgh, giving great views of South Harris - unfortunately too panoramic to fit in a camera!
  3. North Uist viewpoint (route)
A short hill route (only 190m) on North Uist giving a great view of the watery landscape below. There is a small car park at the start, but you can also walk there from the Sound Of Harris ferry.
  4. Luskentyre (route)
A walk up Beinn Dubh, then along the beach at Luskentyre. This walk is photographers heaven. Us the bus to get to the start and from the end, or vary the route to get back to the start
  5. Only 10 hours from Tolsta (route)
From here in Southampton Tolsta beach is only about ten hours away. This walk takes you from the end of the bus route back along the beaches to catch the bus back.
  6. Stonroway wander (route)
A pleasant stroll around the castle grounds for when you have an hour or two to spare having just arrived or waiting to leave the Outer Hebrides. For a part of the country that is windswept and virtually treeless, this route is surprisingly wooded. This route is best in May when the Rhododendrums bloom. Beware of midges if tackling this in the Summer.
  7. Berneray (route)
A tour of Berneray situated in the picturesque Sound of Harris. This walk is a photographers dream. A hard hat may be useful during the nesting season.
  8. Blackhouse village walk (route)
A stroll along the cliffs from Garenin blackhouse village to the turquiose waters of Dal Mhor bay, then back across moorland
