The walk commences at Ticknall village hall carpark, walking through the beautiful parkland of Calke Abbey, passing the house before crossing farmland before skirting Staunton Harold Reservoir. Toilets and refreshments are available at the visitors centre at the North west of the reservoir. From the visitors centre walk westwards to join a minor road. There decend the hill and turn left for a short distance into Melbourne. Here you can visit numerous places of interest including the church and Halls.
Having taken a look around the village walk back out of Melbourne as you entred and again turn right by the Indian Restaurant and the hill past Shaw House. As you reach the top of the hill join the footpath directly ahead. Follow this path across countryside to St Brides. Here follow straight ahead an the right edge of Nut Wood.
You then cross the A514 and join another footpath skirting Vees Wood before turning left with Vees Wood to your left and Gorsey Leys to your left. Keep following straight on and decend back into Ticknall.

Stepping Out 5 - Thorpe/Tissington/Parwich/Alsop en Le Dale/Thorpe

This ia circular route taking in two lovely villages - Tissington and Parwich and covering a scenic section of the Tissington Trail. In the main the walk is on hard surfaces however there are 2 substantial grassy decents and one incline on the path from the Tissington Trail into Parwich and a further grassy incline just outside Alsop in order to rejoin the Tissigton Trail at the walk's most northerly point. WC facilities are available at Tissington adjacent to the trail and a smart coffee shop suitable for walkers is just off the trail (5 mins) in Tissington opposite the church. Good car parking available adjacent to the trail near to Thorpe as there is at Tissington if you want to shorten the walk by about 2 1/2 miles.

A FLEXIBLE WALK, MAINLY FLAT ON PATHS AND TRACKS. THE SOUTH EASTERN EDGE OF BRACEBRIDGE POOL IS AN IDEAL PLACE FOR LUNCH AS THERE IS A VERY HOSPITABLE RESTAURANT, COFFEE KIOSK ETC.

A walk incorporating roads, grass trails and gravel tracks with some medium hills, taking in Abbots Bromley at the start and Knypersly Hall to the north. The walk uses a section of the Styaffordshire Way.

Stepping Out 2 - Milldale

Free parking and toilets available in Milldale.
Varied walk through Milldale, Dove Dale, across open pastures to Ilam. Through parkland of Ilam Hall before travelling north across pastures and into the village of Stanshope. The walk then turns east down Halldale into the upper reaches of Dove Dale and return north to the village of Milldale.

Stepping Out 1- Cannock Chase

Starting at Seven Springs car park. Steady walk along Abraham's Valley, skirting Strawberry Hill before turning left up towards the gravel pits. Walk right mainly on the level for about half a mile before dropping steadily into the Sherbrook Valley. In the valley bottom follow the valley bottom south before turning right at the end of the small pools up to the Katyn Memorial and then on to the road. Here there is a top notch cafe on the opposite side of the road where you can buy an excellent hot chocolate for £1. After your break cross back over the road and join the path nothward through a picturesque coppice. As the coppice opens out there is a large area suitable for picnics. Continue north to Coppice Hill before decending gradually, skirting Brocton Coppice. At the bottom with the small pool on your left turn right towards the stepping stones (level walk) . At the stones cross and then follow straight on all the way back to the starting point.
